Valkyria Chronicles 2 is a sequel to the critically acclaimed tactical RPG Valkyria Chronicles on the PS3, which was released exclusively on the PSP (PlayStation Portable) system. The game takes place two years after the conclusion of the original game and takes you back to the epic adventure set in 1930’s fictitious Europe. In this sequel, you play as a group of young Gallian Military Academy cadets who find themselves plunged into a bitter civil war when the newly formed Gallian Revolutionary Army stages a coup. As the drama and battle unfold, you will experience stories of friendship, love and growing pains during a time of war and revolution. The 'CANVAS' engine originally developed by SEGA Game Studios Japan for Valkyria Chronicles has been fully redesigned for the PSP system. This incredibly distinctive engine will power over 20 new distinct and visually stunning environments where you will have over 200 different missions to explore. For the first time ad-hoc Versus and Co-op multiplayer gameplay will now be available. The 'BLiTZ' battle system has also been re-designed to offer players the freedom to strategically move around the environment and attack enemies using real-time controls, something never before seen in the tactical role-playing game genre. This game adds some new unit classes and the ability to upgrade or change classes. It also changes the battle system to include multiple map areas that are unlocked as you take over enemy bases revealing more of the battlefield and allowing you to call units into that area.
Released on February 25, 2009 in Japan, Initial D Arcade Stage 5 was the second game in the series released on the Sega Lindbergh hardware. A few notable differences include massive physics changes. Compared to Arcade Stage 4/Extreme Stage, which used "drifting" physics, Arcade Stage 5 featured more realistic driving physics, which included tire and brake wear down. Although the tire and brake wear are not displayed anywhere in the game, experienced players can notice the difference in the change in physics as they progress in races. New characters that appeared for the first time in the game are Kobayakawa, Satoshi Omiya, Imposter Project D, Kai Kogashiwa (R.T. Katagiri S.V.), and Hideo Minagawa. New courses such as Happogahara, which used from Arcade Stage Ver.1 to Arcade Stage Ver.3/Street Stage (only daytime used is night) and only Extreme Stage appeared with full daytimes between day and night and Nagao, R.T. Katagiri S.V.'s home course.

An assault exercise versus a rival class. Run through stonewalling defence and take over the camp! In order to replicate a real battle as closely as possible, Class F has been granted to deploy multiple tanks. Go through intensive training along with fellow cadets from Class G to defeat the Rebel Forces. Compete against rival classes and prepare for the looming war. This is a single-play mission.
A clean-up exercise versus a rival class. It takes place in the vast Leanbluff forest. Defeat all enemy units in the area. In order to replicate real battle as closely as possible, Class E has been granted to deploy multiple tanks. Go through intensive training alongwith fellow cadets from Class G to defeat the Rebel Forces. Compete against rival classes and prepare for the looming war. This is a single-play mission.
A defense exercise will be carried out versus Class D. Defend the allied base camps in Areas 1, 4 and 5 for 8 turns. Be aware that poor weather is expected.
A goods retrieval exercise will be carried out versus Class C. Retrieve 5 crates scattered across the areas. In order to replicate an actual battle as closely as possible, Class C has been granted the use of multiple tanks.
A final exam to test Shocktrooper class abilities will be held. Capture the enemy camps in Areas 1 and 4 within 5 turns. The exam will take place under actual combat conditions, so stay focused on your objective.
A final exam to test Engineer class abilities will be held. Move the escort APC to the target point in Area 5.
A final examination of Armored Technicians will be held at the Anthold Aqueduct! Destroy all enemies with the skill armor and sword armor! This is a one-player mission.
