Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".
Story is set in deep Russia, on a wild river in woods called "Ugrum-reka" - the Moody river. Son of a dishonest trader, Prohor Gromov wants to become his own man. He takes his fathers order and goes trough the woods to deliver the furs to the byer in the nearest town. He tries to take the shorter way and get`s lost. At the highest point of this, his fathers servant, Abdulla, who is sent with him to guard him almost shoots him driven by hunger, but comes to the senses and saves his life by continuing to go on.

The first months after the October Revolution. A small Red Army detachment stops at the Aksai farmstead, thereby causing discord in the family. Old Aksai treats his daughter-in-law Dinseme and her little brother Abido like slaves. But the Red Army soldiers treat them very differently. For the first time, a sense of dignity awakens in their souls. Meanwhile, Dynseme's husband, Gylik, together with another White Guard soldier from Ataman Semenov's gang, learns that the Red Army detachment is about to continue on its way and prepares a plan to destroy it.

On the excursion bus he gets acquainted with Anna Konstantinovna (I.Savvina), whos retired on pension. This meeting turnes his life upside-down.
Vladmir Bobylev goes on leave for his 60th anniversary. He takes his wife and son and heads for his native town Kholmy, where he stops with his family at his battle comrade, who suggests a trip to their battle places. The old man agrees almost without hesitation, for after the war hes never been there. They get acquainted with German tourists, and it turns out that one of them also fought here as an officer in the Army of fascist general Paulus.
The film’s protagonist, Ahmet, was tending sheep high in the mountains when a merciless mudflow destroyed his house, taking with it all his family and friends. Though he’s lost his bearing in this world, Ahmet is charging people who more fortunate than himself with his kindness and joi de vivre. The shooting took place in Alagir Canyon, next to Karmadon Canyon where Sergey Bodrov’s production group had perished. Yaropolk Lapshin had completed shooting two days before the Karmadon tragedy.
