Keo-Am wants to learn martial arts from Park Sang-bong but doesn't get the permission as he is a lover of Park's daughter but is ousted from there. He learns martial arts from Japanese and helps Japan to invade Korea. Sang-Bong suffers from this news. Keo-Am is a son of Park's friend and Park wants him to be a farmer and that's why Park didn't teach the martial arts to him. Park's daughter, Ok-Nyeo and Il-Jae, Park's disciple, tell the truth to Keo-Am, who accepts the fact that he is Korean. Keo-Am lures and kills Japanese, but is wounded in his hands. After all, on the way to return, Keo-Am dies due to accidental fights.
When the Mongolian Salitai raids the Shaolin Temple, the head Buddhist priest of the temple, Won-kak, meets by chance the mute So-sun and the Mongolian Il-gong. The mute So-sun works as the lowest servant at the temple and learns how to fight. One day, evil men come and steal the gold statue. So-sun sees this and tells Buddhist priest Sio but the ringleader of men is none other than the Mongolian informant Il-gong. So-sun ends up on the run due to scheming of Il-gong. After training with the Pungdo-hyub fighting technique, Il-gong turns the Shaolin Temple into the bandits' headquarters. So-sun searches out the 'Hwa-gong Secret Fighting Technique' scriptures and trains under it to defeat the Pungdo-hyub fighting technique.

The workers of a dye factory have their pay cut by 20% when the factory owner brings in some Manchu thugs to try and increase production. Desperate to reclaim their full wages, the workers hire an actor to impersonate a priest and kung-fu expert from the temple of Shaolin. The factory owner proves the actor a fraud, and punishes all those involved. The young actor feels he has let the workers down, and promises to atone. He sets out for Shaolin, determined to be accepted as a kung-fu pupil at the elite temple.
