Static is an independent skateboarding video series started in 1998 out of Tampa, Florida by Tampa native Josh Stewart. The series showcases underground talent and under-appreciated cities, with a specific focus on urban skateboarding in unique environments. Over the last 24 years, Static videos have featured skateboarders from around the world and filmed on location in Tampa, London, Paris, Cairo, New Delhi and Hong Kong, to name a few, always with a focus on showcasing little-known talent and capturing the experience of being in the streets with the skateboarders in their local environments.
In this follow up to 2000's under ground video "Static," filmmaker Josh Stewart (One Step Beyond) brings you anther completely independent and completely unique skateboard video experience. When you pop Static II in your DVD player, don't expect to see circus acts, school yards, blue skies, or tricks requiring parachutes before takeoff. Neighbors Spencer and Louise have bonded over their fascination with a recent string of murders terrorizing their community. When a new tenant named Victor moves into the building, all three quickly hit it off. However, they soon discover each has his or her own dark secret. As the violence outside mounts, the city retreats indoors for safety. But the more time these three neighbors spend together in their apartment building, the clearer it becomes that what they once thought of as a safe haven is as dangerous as any outside terrors they could imagine.
