Having entertained an enormous volume of music fans over their lengthy career, The Doobie Brothers reunited at the start of the 21st Century, and set about winning over a whole new generation of listeners. This concert was filmed in 2004, and sees the band working their way through a delicious selection of material. A huge crowd laps up the retro sounds emitting from the stage, with the Doobie's performing hit after hit after hit. Among the tracks played are "Rockin' Down The Highway," "Listen To The Music," "China Grove," "Black Water," and many others. For viewers looking to experience some of the magical songs that lit up the 1970s, this is a great starting point.
The affable, towheaded comic demonstrates his hysterical brand of self-effacing comedy and deadpan delivery at two sold-out shows at Chicago's Vic Theater. It's OK to laugh at this pale white guy...'cause nobody's laughing at Jim Gaffigan harder than Jim Gaffigan!
Voted one of Variety's "10 Comics to Watch" in 2008, Ralphie May is a comedic force capable of making you laugh your balls off -- yes, even you ladies. As lovable as he is outrageous, this veteran comedy juggernaut and star of TV's "Last Comic Standing" keeps his sold-out audience at the histroric Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas, in a continuous uproar with his supercharged, politically incorrect stand-up.
"Last Comic Standing" runner-up Lavell Crawford lords over a hometown crowd at St. Louis's Orpheum Theatre, raking in the love -- and the laughs. Jokes cover the hilarity of presidential politics and the social scene in heaven.
Political comedy about the Government (domestic and foreign policies), the president, the public's own ignorance and faults, and so forth. He also makes some hilarious detours in his own renditions of rap lyrics read out in proper, coherent (non-Ebonic) language. There are also some very poignant pieces on Bush, religion, drugs (notably marijuana), which then link to homeland security. Unlike a comedian like George Carlin who may go from topics in the 'big world' in his act to things in the 'little world' like spotting the random things in life, Maher is very much a comedian of the times, on the attack but clear about his political allegiances.
Concert Recorded July 9th 2005 at the Redwood Amphitheater Santa Clara, California
With his trademark cries of "Git-R-Done" and "What the hell is this, Russia?," Larry the Cable Buy is one of the country's funniest comedians. A veteran of Comedy Central and Evening at the Improv, with his best selling CD "Lord, I apologize," now you can enjoy an entire DVD of this irresistible entertainer at the top of his form.
Ron White does an hour long standup routine about his life, things that bother him, and other thoughts.
Live Evolution is the title of a 2001 live album and a DVD released by Queensrÿche. It was recorded over two nights (July 27–28, 2001) at the Moore Theatre in Seattle, Washington. On the CD the tracks were collected in suites, which represent different moments of the band production and include a large section of the concept album Operation: Mindcrime. The DVD contains footage shot at the same concerts and features less songs listed in the order they were played during the shows.
Already the star of his own half-hour Comedy Central special, and a writer performer for the Off Broadway hit "The Marijuana-logues," Jimmy Dore is best described by critics as a "Bad-assed Bill Maher with a boulder sized chip on his shoulder." Jimmy Dore now takes on the government and the easily misled in his hilarious new one hour Comedy Central Special Citizen Jimmy. He's not a partisan, he's a citizen. Citizen Jimmy.
