Happy Home Movies Thanksgiving Special Season to all who celebrate! This year’s Thanksgiving is all about doing more and doing less in all the ways it matters most. Recipes to look forward to: a fennel-rubbed turkey, buttery stuffing TWO ways, sour cream and chive potatoes as plush as the inside of a baked potato, and—surprise—a pumpkin pie with a gingersnap crust. Some things will never change: I still don’t think you can do much better than a canned cranberry sauce (though I still make my own), and I’m still hand-tearing bread for stuffing. And some things are brand new: In 2024, I’m all for a classic green bean casserole, and I’m very pro- make-ahead recipes (even the mashed potatoes — you’re welcome!).
