That's all there is to it.</p><p class="bb_paragraph" ></p><p class="bb_paragraph" ><strong>High risk, high reward</strong></p><p class="bb_paragraph" >Complete a yaku and you get a choice — stop, or call "Koi-Koi"!</p><p class="bb_paragraph" >Every Koi-Koi you call raises the stakes, and completing another yaku multiplies your score.</p><p class="bb_paragraph" >But if your hand runs out before you complete one, everything you staked that month is gone.</p><p class="bb_paragraph" ></p><p class="bb_paragraph" ><strong>Yaku only hanafuda has</strong></p><p class="bb_paragraph" >Brights — only five in the whole 48-card deck. Three of them turns a round around.</p><p class="bb_paragraph" >Akatan · Aotan — three red ribbons, three blue ribbons.</p><p class="bb_paragraph" >Inoshikacho — the boar, the deer, and the butterfly. Collect the animal yaku.</p><p class="bb_paragraph" >Hanami · Tsukimi — the sake cup meeting the cherry blossom, or the full moon.</p><p class="bb_paragraph" >Animals · Ribbons · Junk — complete them by count alone. Every extra card raises the score.</p><p class="bb_paragraph" ></p><p class="bb_paragraph" ><strong>Pay the rent with hanafuda</strong></p><p class="bb_paragraph" >Rent comes due every month. You pay it with the points you scored that month.</p><p class="bb_paragraph" >Whatever you can't cover carries over, and missing two months in a row means eviction.</p><p class="bb_paragraph" >One miss is a grace period — pay it back next month and you live.</p><p class="bb_paragraph" >Rent climbs as the year goes on. Survive the final collection in the twelfth month and you win.</p><p class="bb_paragraph" ></p><p class="bb_paragraph" ><strong>Collect cards and relics to build a winning deck</strong></p><p class="bb_paragraph" >Shop — spend gold on relics, open hanafuda packs, and remove the cards you don't want from your deck.</p><p class="bb_paragraph" >Relics — strengthen a suit, multiply your score, or rewrite the rules outright.</p><p class="bb_paragraph" >Unlock yaku — Godori, Chodan, and four month sets (Iris · Maple · Rain · Paulownia).
